Hello and welcome folks,
So here we are, already in 2006! a new year, a new start, a new beginning and a new chapter in this book that is my life!
As a kid, I always found new year somewhat special, it was if the morning after Dec 31st the world was a different place, that things seemed different, not much, just a little different. Mind you I suppose that might have something to do with the fact that it was the one night of the year that my parents let me stay up past midnight and have a little alcohol!
Now, the day seems the same, nothings charged, not really, it's all the same as it was the night before. However, maybe, just maybe there is a little more hope! Yes, new year always brings new hope.
People make new plans, have new beliefs, make resolutions to eat or drink less, to get fit, to start that diet, to get a new job, to be better, to make changes in their lives. So I guess that's to be applauded, as long as folk can keep to their resolutions, to believe in them!
So, to anyone whose made a positive resolution, no matter what it happens to be, I salute you and wish you well. Let's make 2006 a better year for all of ours. Be it on a personal side, like loosing weight or stopping smoking or a more wider scale like, working against intolerance and prejudice or poverty and hunger or cruelty and neglect. Let's make 2006 count!
So, truly, I wish you a happy new year!
